For years, the Eagles and their fans couldn’t understand why the ‘Kelly Green’ uniforms couldn’t be used as an alternate jersey.
The reason was an NFL rule that allowed just one helmet per player for safety and quality control reasons.
Now according to Adam Schefter, fans could finally be getting everything they’ve desired for 20-years.
The Eagles’ helmets are midnight green and owner Jeffrey Lurie didn’t want midnight green helmets and kelly green jerseys on his players.
Now with the new rule passing for 2022, the Kelly Green is back.
The Eagles haven’t worn kelly green as a primary color since they switched to midnight green in the mid-90s, but Philadelphia owner Jeff Lurie has been on a mission to bring back kelly green jerseys as an alternate.
His mission is now set and in 2022, the Eagles should be back in business for several big-time home games.
