New York Giants select Jaylen Waddle in Madden simulation mock draft

2 min read

In a different approach to the endless mock drafts being published all across the net these days, The Sporting News’ Jordan Heck brings us one that the popular Madden 21 software has produced.

In the first round, this simulation has the New York Giants selecting Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle with the 11th overall pick.

Despite the Giants making a big splash in free agency with the signing of WR Kenny Golladay, it appears they aren’t done adding to their receiving corps. Again, though, this is a pick that has a chance at actually happening. In fact, ESPN’s Mel Kiper has Waddle projected to go the Giants at 11.

Few would argue with this logic. The Giants are going to select a wide receiver (or two) in this draft and why not take the one that’s the highest on their board?

In Round 2, the Giants select Missouri linebacker Nick Bolton with the 42nd overall pick. Sure, the Giants have Blake Martinez in the middle but, hey, you can’t argue with adding another defensive playmaker.

There were a lot of very strange picks made during this sim, but the Giants’ two-round haul actually makes sense and would give them players at areas of need.

Ideally, the Giants would draft an offensive lineman or edge rusher in Round 2, but hey, for a Madden sim this isn’t bad.
