Russell Wilson and other veterans report to Seahawks ahead of minicamp

1 min read

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and numerous other veterans finally made an appearance at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center for their first in-person session this offseason.

Wilson was among the vast majority of Seahawks players (other than rookies) who had decided to opt out of the voluntary workouts due to lingering COVID-19 concerns.

Coach Pete Carroll had said during his last press conference that he expected a larger turnout closer to minicamp, which is exactly what happened.

“Our activities will pick up as we get closer to minicamp,” Carroll had said. “We expect pretty darn good attendance minicamp. There’s a couple of guys that have some special situations, but for the most part we expect our guys to be there. The week before is a really important week as well in preparation for it, so we’ll see more guys coming through as we get to the middle of June there.”

Per the Seahawks’ official website, 76 players reported for duty on Monday.
