Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks seeks to get interceptions in 2021 season

After a promising rookie season, Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks is determined to take the second-year leap. He racked up 57 tackles (35 solo), two tackles for loss, and two passes defended and had at least five tackles in six regular-season games and one postseason game last year, but he looks to add more to his repertoire and excel in additional areas in 2021.

Brooks told 710 ESPN Seattle’s Wyman and Bob that he has been studying and practicing techniques utilized by defensive backs to get interceptions in the hopes of obtaining at least one for himself this coming season.

“I think my goal, I tell myself and I tell people around me that I envision myself getting interceptions and taking it 100 yards,” Brooks said. “And so, my whole focus this year during the offseason was just working on breaking on routes, reading the QB’s intentions, trying to do the extra stuff to really try to get those interceptions.”

It appears that Brooks will have a larger role in 2021 with the absence of fellow linebacker KJ Wright, who is still a free agent. He and Bobby Wagner are certainly capable of great things for the defense this season.
