After the Seahawks’ three-day mandatory minicamp wrapped up on Thursday, coach Pete Carroll revealed that guard Pier-Olivier Lestage had surgery for a sports hernia that bothered him before camp started.
“He came in with an athletic hernia situation, and so we decided to do it now rather than later,” Carroll told reporters. “He was making it through camp and fighting it out.”
Carroll said that they wanted to get the surgery done as soon as possible because they believe the undrafted rookie holds promise for the future.
“He made a really good impression in his start here with us,” Carroll said. “So we felt like we had a pretty good feel for him, so we went ahead and got the surgery done.”
